Whew! And I thought an average day at uni was busy!
Attended the talk on Second Year at midday after returning my library books (some of that huge pile I posted on Sunday night). The tutors talked a little about what to expect, how to get ahead by reading, how much harder this year will be, etc., etc. I am still majorly excited for second year because it's a very personalised year, a time to put your own spin on your work. Then there was a talk on placements and work experience (apparently a degree alone is not enough- you need the experiences in work environments too of obvious now). There was a shortish questionnaire about research techniques after (which we were kind of bribed into with huge tubs of chocolate - some of many sweets I ate today!)
After that, I didn't have much time to get back to my room, change and have some food before going out to see X-Men: Apocalypse with Alicia. Such a dramatic and awesome film about the origins of the X-Men. I'd say 10/10 especially because the screen was HUGE, the seats were comfy, and the pick'n'mix (see, more sweets) was delicious haha
I always loved the character of Nightcrawler, by the way, even if he is an awkward blue German teleporting mutant - he's cute!
Was taken to the Aquarium Night on the Marina which was [inevitably] packed out with students who seemed [oddly] as interested in staring at fish as we were....
I'm back in my room once more though, with a bottle of Bulmers Pear cider to celebrate the end of my assignments as well as the end of my sober month which I did spectacularly well at given I had two opportunities to drink in that time and didn't *pats on back*......ok, maybe it was wasn't that much of an achievement, but it got me through my work with a clear head
Going to catch up on Season 2 of Daredevil - later!
