Friendship > Tacos

Today has been unexpected mixture of highs and lows, though as much as I'd like to think the highs have outweighed the lows, it feels like they haven't. Once I've written this down it might become clearer.
I managed to straighten out my introduction for my Sensibility essay this morning and got about 100 words down before a midday lecture - high point.
After said lecture, I learnt that my best friend would be dropping out of university - low point (can I say extreme low? This is my best friend we're talking about here. Just thinking about it makes my heart skip a little...)
Ok, moving on - more essay writing. Got up to about 600 words before 3pm workshop on constructing an argument (useful) - high point.
Made some delicious Old El Paso Quorn Mince and Red Pepper Tacos when I got back - high point (I'd like to think this went some way to counterbalancing the extreme low, even just a little bit).
Finished up my essay writing at around 800 words, which is still maybe 100-200 words shy of what I had hoped for tonight but then I have been pressed for time - so high point.
The WiFi here in Halls has been messing up meaning I wasn't able to watch Breaking Bad - low point.
Got to have a phone conversation with my boyfriend - high point.
All in all, I seem to have come out on top today, but when you have to deal with the partial loss of connection with someone you love, it can really take the wind out of your sails, so to speak. I'm wishing her all the best though and really look forward to hanging out in early June before I go home for the Summer. All my love!!
